Self-Love Restaurant, Costco's Sea Snail Porridge, Dogs Rescue Citrus [2/3/2020 – 2/7/2020]

  • It's all about self-love at this London restaurant that places a mirror in front of single diners. Two4One is a popup that embraces the act of dining solo by playing upbeat music, serving comfort food portions for one, and writing positive affirmations all over the restaurant’s strategically placed mirrors. Sounds good, right? Not so fast, the last course of the night involves waitstaff removing the mirrors to reveal the diner seated across from you, in hopes of making a connection.

  • The Costco food court in South Korea doesn’t serve a 1-pound beef hot dog, but it does have sea snail porridge. Foodies from all over the world are flocking to the warehouse store, located in Seoul's Yangjae neighborhood, to sample dishes like pork cutlets and a bulgogi bake.

  • The Shamrock Shake is turning 50, and America’s favorite cookie is helping to celebrate! The Oreo Shamrock Shake will make its debut in a few weeks, and McDonald’s is promising that this flavor combination will be epic! But the celebration won’t stop there, for the first time since 2017, you won’t have to use a locator to find one as every McDonald’s in the United States will have the shakes available!

  • We can now add ”citrus saver” to the lengthy list of reasons we love dogs, as our pooch pals prove to be faster and more accurate at detecting deadly bacteria than scientific testing. The USDA's Agricultural Research Service (ARS) department has been trying dogs to sniff out a bacteria that is devastating to Florida citrus trees. After a rigorous training process, the dogs were able to sniff out infected trees earlier than any other test. Good doggos!

  • Bakers in Germany are responding to the new receipt laws in a super sweet way. The new law requires all vendors to provide a receipt for even the smallest transactions. Thus, the recipe donut was born! The pastry is a yeast donut, topped with a detailed receipt made of sugar icing and fondant. Leave it to bakers to protest in the sweetest way possible!
