McDonald's Chicken Sandwich, Uni Saves Kelp Forests, #SavetheGuac [9/9/19 – 9/15/19]

  • On September 11th, McDonald’s rolled out two new menu items to add to that are sure to add more heat to the best spicy chicken sandwich debate. The Spicy BBQ Chicken Sandwich is a breaded chicken patty, with slivered onions and pickles slathered in a spicy bbq glaze. The tenders are classic Mcdonald’s tenders, coated in the same sauce. 

  • A new drug has been approved by the FDA that may help individuals who suffer from peanut allergies. The drug will not cure the allergy, but minimize the risk of accidental exposure. Peanut allergies affect more than 1.2 million children in the US.

  • If you’ve never tried uni, now would be the perfect time! Eating more purple urchins could help save California’s disappearing kelp forests.

  • Have you ever tried to order Jimmy John’s only to find that you aren’t in the delivery zone? The sandwich maker is giving away $250,000 to one lucky superfan to put towards a home within their delivery zone.

  • Avocado prices are FINALLY coming down. The Department of Agriculture reported that consumers will see a decrease by at least 50%.

  • Chipotle guac has changed and not for the better. Loads of people have taken to Twitter with pictures of brown, hard, and even stringy guacamole and have inspired the hashtag #savetheguac.
