Costco Samples, Pink Prosecco, Ocean Spray CBD Drinks [6/8/2020-6/14/2020]
The Minnesota State Fair is nationally known for its innovative and unique fair food. Each year people from all over the country flock to the fair looking to try interesting finds like cheese curd tacos and buckets of doughnuts. So when fair organizers made the difficult decision to cancel due to COVID-19, foodies from all over were devastated. This week, however, food vendors decided to make the foods available to customers by setting up stands all over Minnesota and parts of Wisconsin. Most people get excited when they hear the delivery person at the door, but for one Belgian man, the ringing doorbell triggers anger and anxiety. For the last nine years, someone has been “pranking” this man by sending him multiple food deliveries a day, some even occurring at two in the morning! Costco has said it is committed to bringing samples back by the end of this month. Costco’s CEO would not offer many details on when or how serving samples would look, just that they had a plan, and would be slowly reintroducing them in each store. This is a developing story, so we will keep you posted.
Italy's Ministry of Food and Policies National Wine Committee, voted that Rosé Prosecco will be a part of their regional selections starting next year. For many years the Prosecco DOC Consortium was very explicit about not allowing a “pink Prosecco” to be produced, but many growers have been pushing for it. Prosecco and a Rosé continue to top the list of most consumed wines, so the marriage seemed natural. The hope is to see bottles on shelves across the world for summer 2021!
Ocean Spray has launched a new line of CBD beverages in Colorado under the name CarryOn. The line contains two drinks with different amounts of CBD; Elevate, with 10mgs, aimed to provide energy, and Descend with 20mgs for relaxing.
