History of Maple Cream Cookies

In 1892, a man by the name of Charles Doerr began selling homemade biscuits out of his grocery story in Ontario. As the word spread, his business grew to become H.C. Doerr Company. By the end of WWII, Charles’ grandson Carl had taken over and decided to change both his last name and the company name to Dare. Dare continues to be a proud Canadian company til this day – selling maple cream cookies worldwide.

Fun fact: Dare is the exclusive supplier of cookies for the Girl Guides of Canada (Canada’s version of Girl Scouts).
